HowToTender was established in 2013 when its founder, Mr Werner van Rooyen, identified the need for comprehensive tender training on how to submit compliant and competitive tenders in South Africa. At that stage there was little to no training available on this subject. This gave rise to the first Tender Manual written by Mr Werner van Rooyen.
HowToTender train business owners and employees to correctly respond to Request for Quotations (RFQ’s), Requests for Proposals (RFP’s), and Competitive Bids (collectively known as tenders). We have presented 493 training sessions (workshops and webinars) across South Africa and more than 4500 companies from South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, and Europe have send 6550 attendees to these training sessions.
The “Become a Tender Expert” 2-day tender workshop and webinar is our flagship training course. The course is designed to teach from novices to experts the whole tender process and focusses mainly on the following topics and subjects:
- Tender Legislation and the importance thereof
- The tender process – which address all actions and happenings in the tender response process
- Tender Compliance
- Functionality – how to correctly respond to Functionality in the tender response process
- Explaining the Preference Points Systems used to award tenders eliminating the misconception that the tender with the lowest price will automatically be awarded the tender
- The advantages of using Subcontractors and/ or Joint Venture Partners
- How to complete tender forms correctly specifically focussing on South African Government Standard Bidding Documents
- And many more topics and subjects.
Our training material is continuously updated in line with all tender legislation in South Africa.
We are proud to say that our courses are used by large corporations, JSE (Johannesburg Stock Exchange) listed companies, large construction companies, and various other entities as part of their Enterprise and Supplier Development initiatives. This in turn create sustainable Small Medium and Micro Enterprises which is crucial to the large enterprises’, mentioned above, supply chain management and procurement.
Large and Small Enterprises with tender response teams prefer private training of their employees in the comfort of their own offices. We refer to these training sessions as private training workshops or webinars. The client decides which format of training will be beneficial to them and we present then either a private workshop or a private webinar to their employees.
